The purpose of this, the official Association of Pole Lathe Turners & Greenwood Workers web site, is to promote green woodworking and all its associated crafts so that once again the woodlands of the world are nurtured and valued as a source of employment and enjoyment.
The Association of Pole Lathe Turners & Greenwood Workers was created in 1990 by a group of a dozen like minded individuals who wanted to rescue the art of polelathe turning and greenwood working from obscurity. The organisation has a global membership of over 770.

Carolin Hyman approached me earlier this year (2014) and was looking for traditional craftspeople to participate in recording traditional crafts in her medium of black and white photography. Her skill with the camera is wonderful and truly inspiring. Caroline has very kindly allowed us to use the images that she has taken of me for the website and we gratefully acknowledge her generosity.
