Vallis Green Woodworking Terms and conditions
For all courses -Important please read carefully.
All Students are please asked to read and understand the following terms and conditions and to please sign, print, date the form stating these terms and conditions on attending their course. Vallis Green Woodworking reserves the right to change the terms and conditions to suit the needs of the business as it sees fit.
Course content and dates
While all efforts are made to adhere to the advertised programme, Vallis Green Woodworking reserves the right to alter courses in accordance with weather conditions, availability of resources and other factors. Vallis Green Woodworking may also, occasionally, change or cancel an advertised date, and will not be responsible for any losses as a result of travel arrangements made in advance.
The customer is also advised to take out travel insurance to cover cancellation losses. Naturally, participants will be informed of any cancellations or date changes.
Liability
While all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the safety and well being of participants, courses take place in a woodland environment and participants must be aware, understand and agree that there are inherent dangers in a woodland environment and the activity that they have chosen to participate in. The participant accepts responsibility for such risks to personal safety and acknowledges that Vallis Green Woodworking is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property.
Students must also acknowledge that participation in a Vallis Green Woodworking course does not qualify them in any way to teach the subject matter.
Vallis Green Woodworking will not be liable for any injury that results from failure to follow its safety instructions. Any damage to tooling and or equipment caused by the student that cannot be easily rectified must be paid for in full. Should replacement of a tool or piece of equipment be required then the student will reimburse Vallis Green Woodworking all costs of replacement to include postage and packaging and delivery. All costs ideally will be paid on the day or within 14 days of the course taking place. The Student (and or parent/guardian) is notified that failure to reimburse Vallis Green Woodworking will result in legal action.
All students must be over the age of 14 years unless agreed with Vallis Green Woodworking by prior notice of the course taking place. A parent/guardian must remain in attendance at all times.
All students must give consent (In written or email form) for their requested details, including email address, to be held for the duration up to and including the date of their course. After this period their details shall be removed from the Vallis Green Woodworking system and email listing.
Participant Behaviour
Participants are expected to follow all safety instructions and not to act in any way that compromises the safety, enjoyment, learning or well being of themselves, other participants. Vallis Green Woodworking will not tolerate abusive behaviour of any kind. Vallis Green Woodworking has a strict no alcohol policy for safety and insurance reasons. All non-prescription, recreational drugs are strictly prohibited. Vallis Green Woodworking reserves the right to remove from a course any person/s who does not follow the above rules and guidelines, or in the instructor's judgement presents a serious safety risk. Any person/s so removed, will not be liable for a refund or any compensation. In addition, Vallis Green Woodworking may ask a person to withdraw from a course, without refund, if they are found to suffer from a physical or mental condition which in the instructor's judgement poses a threat to safety. If a prospective participant is in any doubt about this, they must discuss their condition with the instructor in advance and if the instructor deems necessary seek medical advice. In addition, participants are asked to be respectful of other participants, and staff, for example, with respect to noise (e.g. mobile phones off or in silent mode) and smoking (best downwind, away from the group, if any).
Photography and video
Vallis Green Woodworking will occasionally take photographs or video for use in its publicity material - if the customer does not wish to be photographed or filmed he or she must inform Vallis Green Woodworking, otherwise consent will be assumed. Vallis Green Woodworking does not allow any of its training to be videoed.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above. Any questions feel free to ask. Please note that on occasions that the instructor may need to touch the participant to guide/or correct techniques /posture employed during the course. You, the participant, agree to this.
Cancellation Policy:
Courses may be cancelled at anytime by a student for a 50% refund. Should Vallis Green Woodworking cancel/postpone a course then a mutually acceptable alternative date shall be offered or a full refund given.
Complaints:
Should you need to, I aim to deal with all complaints as quickly and as efficiently as possible. In the first instance your complaint should be e-mailed through the "Contact Me" page of this website, or telephone (Mon-Fri) mobile 07919910921 leaving a message and I will contact you either via telephone or email as soon as is reasonably possible.
Covid-19 changes to teaching practice and bookings;
due to the virus pandemic and its current restrictions Vallis Green Woodworking will only be teaching one person at a time or two persons from the same household until further notice. Vallis Green Woodworking will ask students to provide their own face mask, as these are likely to be more comfortable, Vallis Green Woodworking will provide a coverall and face shield. A distance of 2m shall be observed wherever practicable with absolute minimal contact between student and instructor. Hand washing facility will be provided. A Single set of tools shall be provided for each student. Some people may feel that this will detract from the learning experience and/or productivity on the day however Vallis Green Woodworking and instructor both have shielding family members and feel that these are the minimum measures that they are happy to teach under. Vallis Green Woodworking shall of course do everything it can to ensure that you get the most from your day under these difficult circumstances.
Should anyone booking onto the course or those in their house hold exhibit symptoms of Covid-19 virus, confirmed or not, Vallis Green Woodworking would politely request that you do not attend the course. A change of course date will be offered in the first instance or a full refund should you wish this instead.
Confirmation that any two participants on the same booking are from the same house hold will be required. Signing the Terms and Conditions document and or paying the course fee will acknowledge that this as a fact. Any breech of this fact WILL result in only one person being taught at the "one to one"(£150.00) rate on the day of the course. The £50.00 remainder of booking fee shall be reimbursed within 14 working days of the course date. OR a cancellation of both courses with 50% refund only. Students shall be offered the choice.
